Joshua Runnels, also known as “J.aRtiz”, an artist, Chicago Youth director of ministry and instructor/ teacher of youth development and the performing arts, grew up and influenced by both West and South sides of Chicago. He attended Oak Park High School, residing in Oak Park currently and now working in the Chicago Public School system. Runnels grew up loving old school hip hop & R&B dusty’s while writing poetry and singing in his church choir. Eventually he began recording music in high school while also helping to create his schools’ “footwork” dance team and joining and leading the spoken word club led by Peter Kahn. He later graduated in 2009 and furthered his studies in Visual Communication Arts and joined an international music production team.  He also joined a six piece live performing band. In 2015, He became the first instructor of Music and Spoken Word for Move Me Soul South and is currently working to develop the many performing artist within Move Me Soul.
