(Chicago, IL) born 1995, July 31st is a professional touring dancer and an Advance Apprentice/Male Dance Captain of Move Me Soul Dance Company. He started dancing in his living room to the Michael Jackson hit song Thriller. After his Basketball Career in high school, he started dancing his junior year with the After School Matters program Move Me Soul in 2011. He has been trained in Contemporary Jazz, Ballet, Modern, West and South African, and Hip-hop/Break Dance. During his 4 years of dancing with Move Me Soul, he has performed 7 annual shows. Of those 7 shows he choreographed 3 company pieces and also trained with dance and jazz artist Joel Hall. During his first year of being with Move Me Soul, he auditioned a piece he choreographed to the Dwayne Wade Chicago got Talent and was the sole dancer that made it to the finals. In 2014, he traveled to New York to train in an intensive 2 week dance program at Columbia University. He then went on to audition as a dancer for the Fox T.V show Empire and was hired as an extra. In 2015 he traveled to Jamaica, Kingston to perform for the performing arts school, Edna Manley. where he presented his choreography. In March, 2016 Vonzell traveled to Detroit to audition for Alvin Ailey summer intensive and awaits their response. He also plans to participate in Deeply Rooted Dance Company’s summer intensive.
